Greenhouse update and plant decisions

Summer heat limits the amount of help I can get erecting the new greenhouse. Today, a helper and I were able to get half of the primary ceiling joists installed. There was an error in the original lumber order, so the rest of the joists will not be delivered until Monday. Which is fine by me, an extended weekend will feel nice. The structure feels sturdier and sturdier each time we complete a section. I hope this continues as the main reason for such a massive building is to thwart Oklahoma’s wind sweeping my plaints away.

Sadly, with the lack of rain and the greenhouse still under construction, thereby no rainwater catchment yet, I will have to sacrifice most of my tomato plants. Going from ~20 down to 5. It takes 35-50 gallons of water per day to sate those thirsty animals. In the interest of saving money, by not paying community water rates, this is the most economical solution I could figure out. In my haste in growing so many tomatoe plants earlier this spring I did not account for their mature watering needs. womp womp.
